1.Who is the British Deputy High Commissioner?

Oliver Ballhatchet MBE is the Deputy High Commissioner who represents the UK in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Oliver began his career in office in 2004, initially working on counter-terrorism before moving overseas to work in the British Embassy in Brazil tackling Energy and Global Climate Control.

The role of Deputy High Commissioner is to represent the UK government in major cities across the world. Typically the primary responsibility is to promote trade activities in their city or region with the UK.

2.The Reason for the visit

The Deputy High Commissioner’s reason for visiting was to see how TVS operates in the UK as an entity of the Chennai owned TVS Group and how they contribute to the growth strategy of the business.
